Through Wine in Croatia category, Frank would try to give you an overview of wine experience in Croatia, as well as to recommend wine makers, labels and cellars he finds worth visiting while in Croatia.

Wine quality in Croatia has improved dramatically over the last 20 years. Croatia has many wine-growing regions, but two areas stands out for producing the finest wines of Croatia. North Adriatic region of Istria produces one of the finest white wines in the country, primarily from the Istrian Malvasia grape, a grape native to the region. Dingac region on the Peljesac peninsula is famous for red wines made of Plavac mali grapes, descendant of Zinfandel or Crljenak Kastelanski as it is called in Croatia.
