Dine in Croatia
Through our Dine in Croatia series, we try to give you an overview of dining scene in Croatia, as well as to recommend restaurants we find worth visiting while in Croatia. Like any other tourist country, there are many tourist traps when it comes to restaurants, many of them delivering mediocre food and bad customer service while overcharging for it. With our dining guide to Croatia, you would hopefully avoid these tourist pitfalls.
From regional to international cuisine, local eateries to fine dining restaurants, there are many awesome restaurants in Croatia. Croatian cuisine, just like the country itself, has been influenced by many neighboring countries: coastal region has typical Mediterranean diet based on olive oil, herbs, fresh fish, vegetables and pasta; eastern Croatian diet has been influence a lot by Hungarians, while north and Zagreb region shows lots of similarities with Austria.

Weekend was approaching and I really had some good plans ahead, but Friday afternoon brought a surprise… and at first not a pleasant one. The working Saturday :-(.
Restaurant Mare e Monti by Kukuriku was Frank’s last in a row for Restaurant Week 2011. Despite excellent food […]
Wine Bar Tinja was a second in the row during the Restaurant Week. This place, in Frank’s opinion, is a real bijou. Located in Sikici, at the outskirts of Pula, the place was extremely hard to find. Equipped with GPS and without a worry, Frank ended up in the middle of fields, without a house […]
Frank started Restaurant Week with a visit to Le Mandrac restaurant in Volosko. Volosko is a small, fishing village close to Opatija. Frank’s already written about Konoba Tramerka, another great place to eat in Volosko. Anyway, not being the subject of this post at the moment. Frank wants to share his experience on Le Mandrac […]
