New Year 2012 in Croatia
Frank decided to tell you a bit about New Year 2012 in Croatia. Not that Frank cares much about that particular day in the year. Unless when it happens in the middle of the week, and Frank can enjoy some time off the work. Than it is nice. But this year it is not the case. It is weekend, and it is immediately less exciting. Even annoying. Frank is not grumpy, he just thinks everyday is worth celebrating. So what is the difference with the first day of a year. Anyway, Frank knows what he's going to do.
Summer Jazz in Croatia
Our first neighbors are English. One of the thing they asked us after spending their first summer in Croatia was: What is happening with Croatians and the Jazz? This question regarded jazz madness invading Croatian coast every summer. This made me think…. how Croatians moved from Fisherman Parties including free mackerels, cheap wine and folk music to Jazz Festivals.

We were away for a week. We went to Amsterdam. Stayed at Rho hotel. We loved the location, loved the staff. Didn't like the smell of the room.
Restaurant Week: Mare e Monti by Kukuriku
Restaurant Mare e Monti by Kukuriku was Frank's last in a row for Restaurant Week 2011. Mare e Monti by Kukuriku in Stella Maris Holiday Village near Umag offered definitely the best food Frank had during the Restaurant Week. And it is the only one where Frank will not go back. Ever. Despite excellent food (Chef, Chapeau!), stunning setting (seafront terrace) and really good wine list.
Wine Bar Tinja
This wine bar is permanently closed!
Wine Bar Tinja was a second in the row during the Restaurant Week. This place, in my opinion, is a real bijou. Located in Sikici, at the outskirts of Pula, the place was extremely hard to find. Equipped with GPS and without a worry, we ended up in the middle of fields, without a house in sight. Back on the main road, we tried to get the right directions from the locals he met.
