Restaurant Week

I am really excited about the upcoming Restaurant Week Croatia 2011. The idea is to promote the restaurant scene in Croatia and to get people to go to the restaurants. The event started in Zagreb back in 2008, and this year it is the first time that the restaurants throughout Croatia partake. Restaurant Week is aimed at promoting local gastronomy and restaurant scene.

The idea is simple, participating restaurants offer three Prix Fixe Menus – 3-course menus including a glass of wine for the fixed price of 100 Kn. People have an opportunity to try a new spot, and restaurants have an opportunity to present themselves to new customers.

We decided to try out the following restaurants during Restaurant Week: Le Mandrac in Volosko; Mare e Monti by Kukuriku in Umag and Wine Bar Tinja in Pula.

We would like to visit more restaurants, but we are a bit busy because we go to Amsterdam in less than a week.  Anyway, the event takes place twice a year, and we hope to visit more restaurants in the second event later in the year.

Stay tuned for the reviews on the restaurants that we will be visiting.
