Restaurant Spinnaker Porec is located at the Porec seaside promenade. A la carte restaurant with a nice terrace for dining al fresco, Restaurant Spinnaker Porec is part of Hotel Valamar Riviera.
I think that being a part of the hotel makes a great injustice to the restaurant because people go less there compared with neighboring restaurants.
And in my opinion restaurant Spinnaker is well worth a chance. The food is delicious, wine list extensive offering many local and international wines.
Sommelier Edi Brcic is one of the best in Croatia. He is gentle and presents perfectly the meals and the wine served along. I changed my choice of a wine few times, based on Edi’s suggestions. And I’ve never regretted following Edi’s advice.
I went for a dinner at Restaurant Spinnaker during Valamar Jazz Festival. This summer Jazz Festival takes place in Porec every year in June or July. Concerts are held on the island of St. Nicolas, and after party in the villa Polesini.
Delicious meal at Restaurant Spinnaker Porec
Couvert consisted of a butter and lemon spread, served with choices of home-made bread rolls (with walnuts, olives, plain, …). For starter we chose Octopus Carpaccio. It was excellent. Octopus was sliced thinly, marinated in lemon juice, seasoned with olive oil, and served with cherry tomatoes and Parmesan cheese.
We also tasted a Boskarin Carpaccio (Carpaccio of Istrian cattle). It was also seasoned with an olive oil and served with cherry tomatoes and Parmesan. Delicious!
Fish soup was fantastic. Fish soup was packed with fish, vegetables, herbs and flavors.
And for the main course I went with grilled gilt-head bream fillets served on the bed of vegetable risotto, while my friends chose beefsteak.
Steaks were perfectly made au point and grated with fresh truffles. And the waiter wasn’t cheap on truffle.
Desert included parfait cream with dark chocolate and ice-cream with olive oil and dark chocolate. Great food and definitely the place to recommend.
After the dinner, the party continued on the island of St. Nicolas where the Brazilian pianist and singer Tania Maria and her Viva Brazil Quintet played on the open air stage.
