Lately we’ve attended a couple of workshops and lectures about Porec past. Seriously, this town tells stories; like the fact that even in Roman times, people kept fish farms in today’s Tarska Vala; or how Porec got seriously bombed during the WWII due to its shallow seas – curious?! Porec is a small town with barely 15.000

If you’ve been around this blog for awhile, then you already know that Komarna is my favorite place in Croatia. Komarna is a small seaside village, located 70 km northwest of Dubrovnik. We have yet to visit the island of Vis in Croatia. It’s on our ever-growing bucket list of places to visit in Croatia. To put us in the mood and give us a taste of the island, we’ve reached out to Xania and Craig of Wearactive. Originally from UK, they’ve been living on the island of
There are not too many restaurants in Istria we haven’t heard about. We certainly haven’t visited them all, but at least we thought that we’ve got them all on our bucket list. Well, it turned out not to be the case.
The Dolac market Zagreb is centrally located right behind the town’s main square. It’s Zagreb‘s main farmers’ market. We enjoy Dolac farmers’ market for all the right reasons: a fresh, and local produce, aromas, voices and atmosphere that you can only experience on a local market. It reflects local’s daily life. We can spend hours just walking around.
This is a hilarious guest post from travel writer Ashley Hubbard. An hour ago I thought kayaking three hours would be a piece of cake, now I was rethinking my overly confident
Split green market, or as locals call it Pazar, is one of the town’s iconic spots. No visit to Split can be accomplished without a visit to its green and fish market. While at the majority of the places, you’ll find these two markets attached and inseparable one from the other, it’s not a case

Being an expat in a foreign country can be pretty challenging at times. And certainly not everything is roses and unicorns. I’ll not lie to you, there are days when I just want to pick up my things and head back home. However, today is not one of those days.
Tavern Toncic Zrenj is, well, the tavern I waited the longest to get in. Seriously, I heard about this place within my first month in Istria. Yet, I get to try it out almost nine years later. Another place it took me ages to try out is a tavern Batelina in Banjole.
Visit Opatija, Croatia during the off-season (spring and fall) to fully appreciate it. The town became a popular resort for the international elite and Austrian-Hungarian nobility in the late 19th century.
It is official, and I decided to say it out loud – Dubrovnik, we are taking a break. The town won’t miss me. It’s not like I am important or anything. But on my side, I won’t miss Dubrovnik either. Dubrovnik, I’m breaking up with you! The relationship hasn’t worked from the very beginning.
Here are some of the Croatia fun facts. If you are visiting Croatia and have a chance to spend some time with local people, here are few ways that can make a Croatian angry. I’m not taking sides here. I am just saying that these things can make a Croatian angry. And you don’t want
I smile just to think about Pula beaches. Actually anytime I write beaches and Istria within the same sentence, it makes me smile. OK, let me repeat it again, beaches in Istria are not really the beaches, but rather a rocky coast where people swim.
I’ve originally written this post four years ago, but beer scene in Croatia changed so much in just last two years, that I had to re-write it completely.
